On Sunday, August 16 at 8PM, The KFFM will be screening new movies (and some of their classics) at Octane in Rockford!
The plan is to screen several lip-related, yes, lip-related films including:
DLIPS,
Fight or Flight,
Do You Believe (In Santa Claus),
Lipschtick,
and some other stuff, too.
We also hope to embark on some radical filmmaking. That means we will shoot a movie THAT NIGHT based on the forces and energies and lips among us in Octane. (If you do not want to be filmed, we will not film you.)
If you have questions, the best thing to do is come on down and find out for yourself what "this" is all about. Bring your own lips.
And yes, the Octane bar will be open for the occasion!
Last, but not least, The KFFM is proud to announce that Guest Artist Richard Vargas will be there that evening for the world premiere of his poem-turned-film DLIPS!
Vargas is an established poet from Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has two published books of gorgeous poetry out there: McLife and American Jesus. Jesse and I consider him to be the voice of contemporary issues. His poetry ignites our hearts and brains like nobody's business and if we are lucky, he will read a poem for us all that night!
Octane is located downtown in Rockford at 124 N. Main Street. $5 Donation.

Will you show the lips from the beginning of Rocky Horror??? :)
ReplyDeleteI actually have never seen/participated in Rocky Horror so I had to Google/youtube "rocky horror lips." Anyway, to answer your question, "We're going a different direction." At least I hope we're not ripping, make that "lipping" anybody off.
ReplyDeleteSo little sleep these last few days...can you tell? Anyway, miss ya! ;)
